Hey friends! Its Katie to welcome you to another Tuesday Tutorial. If you remember, last week I suggested an idea suitable for a teacher(s) in your life and this week I'd like to suggest an idea for the Mothers in your life. I kind of think of this project as a great all around gift... as in its a great little treat to make for your own Mom or to make a little "your special" on Mother's Day because you are a Mom.
Plus, if you aren't into baking or decorating, go buy this little treat... remember its the thought that counts.
But remember, its about that cute little box that goes with that yummy treat that counts too!
This is your simple basic box again...
Box measures 9" x 9". Score all sides at 3"
I then took the stamp called Blossoms and Swirls and stamped the entire piece.
Then cut and adhere your sides together.
Now, its time to make the insert to hold your cupcake.
Get a piece of cardstock that measures 5" x 5".... Score all sides at 1"
I used the 4th largest circle from the large circle nestability set to create my opening. It measures just shy of 2 3/8".
Cut flaps and fold in.
Place insert into box... its a very tight fit and the "legs" will buckle a bit, but you don't see that part anyway so don't worry. Just tap gently until its at the bottom.
Next is the lid. This piece of cardstock measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4". Score all sides at 1/2". Use the same circle nestability to cut the circle and place a piece of acrylic on the underside of the lid. Fold together just like the insert.
I like using my Scor-tape for these sections. This stuff is so easy to use and you can just rip with your fingers.
I then cut 4 strips measuring 3" x 1/2"... these are just pieces for the bottom of the box.
Now just place your yummy cupcake in the box.
Place your lid and tie up with some pretty ribbon. I used some from the new Clearly Coordinating Collection.
Then I decided I needed a cute tag to along with this little box. I used the daisy stamp set from Everyday Jar-gon so it would match my daisy cupcake.
I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Copics (Y17, YR31,G05, YG06, C-1) to color in my image. I then used a scallop heart nestability to cut my image out.
Then just attach to box.
One more view.
So that's it for me folks. I know many a mother out there that would love a yummy treat! But the great thing is that you can give this to anyone for any occasion - the best kind of gift.
Thanks for visiting us here and definitely come back tomorrow for SNEAK PEEKS... wahoo!
