BUZY BOUNCING BEES AND A BEEHIVE

Hi!  Good Tuesday Tutorial morning to you.  I am a very happy Mom this morning because my Marine son has returned safely to the states .  Yay. And it is less than a month when he comes home to visit. So I am very thankful and happy.  Shout out to Katie.....Hi Katie-Kate.

Now..are you wondering about that title?  I have something special to share with you.... a Beehive card template cutting SVG and PDF file for you. Isn't it cute. And I am going to show you ways to use it.  We are going to make two projects and then I will include a couple photos of other ideas.  Shall we get started?

Our first project today is a beehive card using the beehive from the SVG file .... cutting a smaller behive for the front with a peek-a-view (hee) of what bees do in that beehive.

 

Supplies Needed

 
STAMPS: Home Sweet Hive (Clear Dollar Stamps)

PAPER:Night Eclipse, Wild Ginger (Clear Dollar Stamps), Neenah Solar White (from Clear Dollar Stamps)

INK:Momento Dye Ink Pad Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Palette Ink Pad Wild Ginger

ACCESSORIES: Cutting Up SVG File - Beehive SVG & PDF (Clear Dollar Stamps), Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities, Cuttlebug, CB Embossing Folder Houndstooth, Dimensional Foam Adhesive, Sure Cuts A Lot Cutting Program, Cricuit Expression

 

 
Here I used my Sure Cuts A Lot program and Cricuit Expression to cut out my card. 

 I had to delete the sections and copy the shape.  Then I placed them top to top and welded them together.  If you are using the PDF file you just print out the shapes (do not resize), cut out carefully with scissors and trace the beehive shape onto your folded card overlapping the top for the fold.  I also took my copy of the beehive shape, kept the proportions the same and made it 1/4" smaller all around and cut it out for the card front in Wild Ginger.

 

 
Now take your smaller shape in Wild Ginger...

cut out oval shape in center using 2nd largest oval shape in the Spellbinders Nestabilities.  ThenI run it through your embossing machine (I used the Cuttlebug)...I used the Cuttlebug Houndstooth Embossing Folder.

 
Now take your Wild Ginger Palette Ink Pad

and sponge the edges of the beehive front

 
Using the Spellbinders Oval dies again....

Cut out the largest oval from Neenah Solar White and make a frame using the largest oval and second largest oval from Wild Ginger.

 
Got your stamp set HOME SWEET HIVE ready...

Using the solid honeycomb stamp with Wild Ginger oval the entire white oval

 

 
Now get the outline honeycomb...

And stamp with Wild Ginger over the solid honeycomb..does not have to be perfect as you can see

 

 
Now stamp your sentiment in the center with Momento Tuxedo Black

Then stamp the bee angled just above it on the left or as you want (it is your card and you get to put your personal touch on it).  Stamp another bee on a scrap of Neenah Solar White and use accessory stamps to stamp the eye and stripes with Wild Ginger. And pop up the bee on top of the other using dimensional foam adhesives.

 
Just adhere the stamped oval in the center of your card.

 

 
Now you get to adhere the embossed beehive...you may want to use a strong adhesive because of the embossing.

 

 
Take your oval frame and pop up with dimensional foam adhesives to the card front  I really like this look.  Now we have out PEEK-A-VIEW.  Isn't it cool.

PAPER:Worn Parchment, Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps), Basic Grey June Bug  (from Clear Dollar Stamps)

INK:Hot Cocoa Palette Ink Pad (Clear Dollar Stamps), Momento Dye Ink Pad Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Copics B00 Billowing Clouds, Y17 Bee Pollen, N10, Blender pen

ACCESSORIES:Cutting up SVG file - Beehive SVG & PDF (Clear Dollar Stamps), Sure Cuts A Lot Program, Cricuit Expression, Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder, Sponge, Transparency Film, Dimensinal Foam Adhesive

 

 
Here I cut out my flower just like I did with the beehive.

I made the flower 4 1/4" square and copied it and placed them end to end in SURE CUTS A LOT cutting program then welded them together and cut from worn parchment.  I cut out a single flower from dp and made my circle the size I wanted it and cut it from dp as well.

 

 
This is what your flower will look like folded in half.

Because of that cut off top for the fold...that is why I printed a whole flower to adhere over that.  Sneaky huh.

 

 
To get it to stand flat...you have to cut just a teensy bit off the bottom petal.

 

 
Take the Hot Cocoa Palette Ink pad and sponge the edges.

Remember you can always add but you cannot take it off.  So add a little color at a time.

 

 
Using a scrap of Cottonball white...

Stamp Billy Bee five times leaving room to punch using 3/4" cirlce punch.  Color Billy...I did a simple coloring job using Y17, B00, N10 and the blender pen.  The blender pen is for using on the wings.  Use it on the entire wings...then use a little B00 at the bas of the wings and go over with the blender pen.  It just lightens the color up. Punch out with the 3/4" circle punch..notice I punched different parts each time.  Punch 5 circles from worn parchment as well and sponge edges of ALL circles using Hot Cocoa.

 

 
Here is how we get out bouncing bees. 

Take strips of transparency film 3" by 1/8".  Adhere in between the colored bee and the worn parchment cirle using score tape.  Hides the acetate nicely.

 

 
You will fold the acetate at the top on two of the circles and at the bottom on the other three.

 

 
Turn your flower center circle over and adhere dimensional foam adhesive as shown...this is how you will place your bees.

 

 
You fold your acetate the second time at varying lengths on your bees and adhere to the foam on the bottom.

 

 
Just adhere to your card from and VOILA bouncing bees sure to cheer anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is an easel card I made with the stamp set CIRCLE CHIT CHAT.

 

 
This one shows how you can use the beehive sections leaving a mat.  I also used the hexagon for my image...BEE-UTIFUL BALLERINA.  And I made rolled flowers from the two week's ago tutorial.
