Hi Everyone! Its Katie here wishing you a happy Friday. I hope your day is treating you well and that the weekend is beginning to look good for you. Today I've got a super easy, fun, and simple technique for you that produces a really cool and unique look.
- Cardstock
- Inks
- Asian Plants Stamp Set
- Scor-pal
- ATG Gun and tape
- Tissue Paper
- SU! Designer Label Punch
- 3/4" x 1 1/2" Oval Punch
- 1 1/8" Circle Punch
- Brayer
- Glue Stick
- Embellishments
All you need is some spare tissue paper to get you started. I hardly ever have to buy tissue paper because I try to always keep the stuff I get in all my packages. Save as much as you can!
For this card, I just lightly crumpled it up to start with. I didn't want it too tight because I wanted to ink up the background before stamping on it.
I inked up my brayer and gently ran it across my crumpled tissue paper.
When I flattened it out, I decided I wanted a bit more ink in the background so I took my ink pad and gently tapped it into the areas that I wanted. I didn't do this to start out with because I wanted the smoother look of the brayer.
Then I grabbed the bamboo stamp from the set Asian Plants and randomly stamped with my Olive Green ink.
Then I crumpled up the tissue paper again, but super tight this time... don't be shy!
Then unfold and smooth out. Since I used white tissue paper, I placed it over 3 different colors of cardstock so that you could see the difference it would make if you were to use different colors. Options are always a good thing. The left is a darker Desert Sand, White in the middle, and a Bamboo on the right.
I chose the Bamboo on the right and cut it to the size I wanted for my card front and then generously covered it with a glue stick. Make sure to go all the way out to your edges.
Then place your stamped tissue paper right on top of the cardstock and smooth out. Just use your fingers and love the little overlaps of tissue paper. You want all that glorious texture.
Now, instead of cutting my tissue paper along the cardstock, I just flipped it over and glued it right onto the backside. The tissue paper is so thin that there is no bulk whatsoever.
Now, its just time to finish up your card. Down below, I wanted to show you a close up of the tissue paper. I think I ended up covering up my best layers, but you can see how it can overlap when you press it down on the sticky cardstock.
And the finished card. The leaf ribbon is some that I received as a gift from a friend and it just worked perfectly with this card.
Thanks so much for stopping by Clearly iStamp and I do have one small announcement to make before I go.
Make sure to come back on Monday because we've got lots of fun stuff planned for the entire week and weekend. That's all I'm going to say, but trust me you don't want to miss it!
This is Katie signing off for Clearly iStamp.
