Hi everyone! Many of you have kids that have already gone back to school, but I don't want you to think its too late to send a little something to school with your kids for their teacher. Its still early and if you are like me, the kids here don't start school until next Tuesday.
Today, I want to feature a great little stamp set called Teacher Treats that is perfect all year long for the teachers. Once school starts, its nice to have a few treats/gifts on hand and ready to go. This particular item that I'm going to show you today is perfect. Its not only cute, but practical as well. I did a version of it when this stamp set was first introduced and I wanted to revisit it since its that time again to keep those teachers forefront in our minds.
It is also a great way to recycle and alter any glass jars you may have lying around the house. Yay... something else I can alter.
The jar I used is a Smuckers Jelly jar, but use whatever you've got around the house. It doesn't even have to be a glass jar, just anything that will hold pencils in this case.
I first took a quick measurement around the circumference and decided that was the easiest way to figure out the length I needed for my decorative paper.
For this particular jar I measured 9 1/4" x 2 1/2" and then it was just a matter of adding adhesive and wrapping around the jar.... super easy.
For the front label, I decided to use the stamp that says 'Magnificent and Marvelous'. I stamped it and then cut it out with the Labels One nesties and cut out a mat with the next size up.
I used just a little bit of adhesive to hold it down and thought the stapler would be a fun way to attach the two pieces together - you know... for that "teacher" look :) I used the large flat glue dots to adhere the label to my jar.
The other stamp of choice was the one that says "my teacher has all the write stuff" and I stamped that with Memento Tuxedo Black so I could color it with my Copics. Didn't need a lot of space so I used up some extra scrap white cardstock that I had.
Then color away...
Then I used the largest tag from the Spellbinders Tags Trio set to cut out my sentiment and image. Just use a little piece of tape to keep the die in place.
After it was cut I did want a little bit of a border around it so I just adhered it to some scrap cardstock and then cut my own.
Now all you have to do is grab some pretty ribbon, tie a bow and in this case, I grabbed some jute and tied my tag to the bow.
And here are the close-ups.
What teacher doesn't want to have extra pencils in the classroom! Like I said not only cute, but functional too. Thanks so much for stopping by and spending some time here! Enjoy your Wednesday!

This is a really cute jar. What color Copics did you color the pencil with? I can see Cool Gray and Golden Yellow but not the pink. It would be nice if you took the photo so the end of the Copic marker showed with the color name & number. Just a suggestion. Love your work! Thanks for sharing it with us.
