Hi friends, its Katie here to greet you with a new Tuesday. I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend. We had a long 4 day weekend here at home and it was nice, but I'm ready for things to get back to schedule.
So, from my title you might guess that today's post is about embellishments. I love my embellishments... ones that are store bought as well as ones that are hand made. Plus, if you are like me you love to "tweak" the things that you have. Not that these items need additional love, but its fun to do so anyway - its our nature isn't it? Plus, I feel like you get an extra bang for you buck this way.
So I 'll start with a picture of a card I created and then show you how I embellished my embellishment.
Warning though... you have to be a fan of glitter for these and if you don't have one yet, you need Scor pal's Glitter cloth. You can find a more detailed post about this great product HERE.
I absolutely LOVE my Prima Hydrangeas and I was inspired some pretty flowers that had been glittered on the edges. The flowers that I saw were large "real" life size ones and I thought it would be fun to do on some of my card embellishments.
The key for me is some ZIP DRY GLUE. This stuff is perfect for this technique and easy to maneuver with its funnel tip.
And here is my card using my embellished embellishments. I paired it with a wonderful sentiment that you can find HERE.
My next embellishment is also a flower, but I gathered my old tissue paper to create my embellishment and then used the same glue and glitter method to "tweak" them.
I started with the Blossom Nestabilities by Spellbinder and cut 4 blossoms from smallest to the 4th largest size.
To make things faster, I layered my nesties and tissue paper. I placed the smallest on the tissue paper, layered another piece of tissue paper or just fold over and then place the other nestie on top.
Do this again with the pink tissue paper.
Then use the same method as above to add your glue and glitter.
Now this is the fun part with the tissue... its so malleable and fun to scrunch and shape as you wish.
I scrunch from the back and then smoosh down on the top to keep placement.
I used 1/2" flat glue dots to attach my petals together.
And here is the completed card. The sentiment is from the set called Words of Gratitude. I just stamped and hand cut the leaf.
Well that's if for this Tuesday. I hope you have a wonderful day and don't forget that the Clearly Inspired Challenge - Glam it up - is still going strong. You have until late Thursday to get yours in.
Thanks as always for visiting... this is Katie signing off for Clearly iStamp.
