Hello friends!
Welcome to our first monthly blog hop!
These blog hops will be the third Sunday of every month....a must see for a lazy Sunday afternoon!
Each month we will have a theme which each Design Team member is challenged to interpret any way they like. The theme for January is
NEW BEGINNINGS
We ask that your browse through each Design Team member's post and leave them an encouraging comment....short or long, they all are appreciated!
There will be a prize, that will change each month!
January's prize is:
One random winner will be chosen from all of the comments (includes every Design Team member) for one free stamp set of their choice.
Now that's pretty easy work for a FREE STAMP SET!
.......................................................................................
I will begin with my sample. I have chosen Heart Flutters for a couple of reasons:
First, I "heart" the THE BEGINNING of snow days off of school...which we just had!
Second, I loved the SVG cut files for this set...so easy to use...and the SVG cut files are a NEW BEGINNING for CDS.
Make sure to read yesterday's post if you don't know what SVG files are!
This SVG cut file is FREE for you!

...........................................................
I thought I would throw in a few tips with my sample....I didn't think you would mind!
Tip #1
When you are stamping a background on your project, you should do two things:
1. Stamp your project at a diagonal...it is much easier to hide your "stamping seams" this way.
2. Place a mouse pad under your project. Any time you can't get a full stamped image, this usually solves the problem! You can't believe how much easier this makes it!
Tip #2
This tip is for the SVG files you will be cutting out for your stamp sets.
1. We have made each cut out a little bigger than the stamp image...to make it as easy as possible for you to get the image stamped in the right place.
2. Resist the urge to leave the cut out on your Cricut mat. Instead place them on a contrasting piece of cardstock or scrap paper....it REALLY REALLY helps to get your stamped image perfectly on your Cricut cuts. If you have white on white, you can't see the edges of your cardstock cut out to align your stamp.
All of these are pretty close using the dark background to see my edges!
Here's another sample using the Heart Flutters stamp set and the new SVG file Scalloped Edge Treat Box. Perfect for Valentine treats or little Easter baskets!
CDS Stamps used: Heart Flutters Clear Acrylic Stamps, Fabulous Friend Tag Clear Acrylic Stamp
Cardstocks and papers: CDS Strawberry Jam, Tropical Mist, October Afternoon paper (box is cut out of this...just the perfect weight!)
Ink pads used: Cherry Go Round, Fresh Papaya, Hot Cocoa
Embellishments: Fresh Papaya Crystals and ribbon
Tools: Sure Cuts a Lot program/Cricut, Heart Flutters SVG file, Scalloped Edge Treat Box SVG file, Scorpal
Make sure to comment on each blog....each comment is an entry!
The blog role in order:
......................................................
Hope your day is filled with blessings and stamping galore!
If you wish to be the best man, you must suffer the bitterest of the bitter.

Some really fabulous tips! The diagonal idea is one I will definitely be trying, and who knew that a simple mouse pad would give you a better chance at a complete image! Thanks so much!
