Happy Tuesday Tutorial to you...Lisa here! A big shout out to our Katie....Hi Katie Kate!!!! School is almost here so how about some notes for lunches, teachers etc. Plus ever send something to a friend and just want to pop a little note in there or on a plate of cookies or even a love note in your loved one's lunch, brief case or on the mirror?......................this tutorial is for YOU.
FRIENDLY LITTLE NOTES:
For this little note start with a 7 1/2 x 3" piece of COTTONBALL WHITE CARDSTOCK. Using your SCOR-PAL score along the long side at the half way point 3 3/4".
Fold card in half and align the oval from ELEGANT ACCENTS DIE SET so the die is just a little above the fold. Run through your cutting machine (I used my Cuttlebug). I ran back and forth to get a good cut through the two sheets of cardstock.
This is what it looks like once you cut it and pull the little pieces from the slits. Here is your card base.
Now to cut your card front. Cut another oval die, this time just from a single piece of Cottonball white cardstock scrap.
So now this is your card front. It is a whole oval...and once we are done decorating it...we will adhere it to the front. It will appear the the entire card is whole but from the back you will just see a tiny overlap from the front. (sneaky huh?!)
Stamp this sentiment from ELEGANT ACCENTS STAMP SET with MEMENTO TUXEDO BLACK DYE INK right in the center.
Take this image from the same set and stamp it in the center using WILD HUCKLEBERRY PALETTE INK PAD.
Adhere the the front panel to the card base like so.
Now take a 6" piece of Wild Huckleberry Ribbon through the top two slits in the top from front to back (note: in order for this to work when you cut the die from your folded card base you must make sure the slits don;t get cut off).
From the back thread the ribbon on the right back through the slit on the left to the front.
Thread the last part of ribbon through the right slit to the front.
Now just trim your ends as you desire.
Voila!
TWO OTHER VERSIONS OF THIS CARD
Here I used the largest image from the same set. However the sentiment is BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS OVAL. I stamped the image with WILD GINGER PALETTE INK PAD.
Again this image is in the same set we were working from. The ink color is BUBBLE GUM PALETTE INK PAD. The sentiment is called YOUR FRIENDSHIP OVAL. I embellished with BUBBLE GUM CRYSTAL STICKERS.

NOTES FOR TEACHER:

Start with your 6 x 3" piece of COTTONBALL WHITE CARDSTOCK. Score at 3" along the long side with your SCOR-PAL.

Cut a 3 x 3" piece of MANILLA BASICS BAISIC GREY DESIGNER PAPER.

Adhere the Manilla Basics to the card front and punch the border at the fold using EK Success border punch. I love this look.
Take your pencil and ruler and make a line 3/4" from the left and right side. This is your stamping guide to stamp inside these lines. Remember to make your pencil lines light so they will erase completely.

Using the stamp set TEACHER TREATS stamp this sentiment just below the middle of the card with MEMENTO TUXEDO BLACK DYE INK PAD.

Next we want to stamp only the pencil above and below the sentiment. To do this we are going to mask the sentiment using Painter's Tape (or masking tape..this is what I have in my drawer). Place over the sentiment only. Stamp onto ink pad, remove tape and stamp below the first pencil. Repeat this three more times, stamping pencils above the sentiment.

Now erase your pencil lines and get ready to color. Using the following Copics: R27 CHERRY GO ROUND, YR04 ORANGE WHIP, Y17 BEE POLLEN, YG23 KIWI DELIGHT, BG05 TURQUOISE GEM, RV14 BERRY BLAST, C-3 COOL GREY NO.3 color in the pencils. The ink will not go through since there are two layers (your designer paper and the card base).

And there you go. I love the look. Love the pencils in the different colors and the thick lines of the sentiment.
Take WORN PARCHMENT CARDSTOCK and cut to 6 x 3". Score on your SCOR-PAL at 3" on the long side. DO NOT FOLD YET.

The reason you don't fold yet is because you are going to run the piece through your cutting machine. If you fold and do this...it weakens your fold. Your card will want to lay flat instead of stand up. Place the smallest Spellbinders Long Rectangle Nestabilities in the center of the bottom half and cut.
Before embossing..you'll want to place tape on it to secure it from moving. I used Katie's trick or putting it on and off my jeans a few times before adhereing. This makes it so it will peel off without tearing the paper.

Then flip over your panel to emboss. I used the CUTTLEBUG METAL CUTTING PLATE ADAPTOR. (personally I run my plate back and forth 10 times total for a deep impression).

Now using the same set stamp this sentiment "I have one JOLLY good teacher" from the set TEACHER TREATS with MEMENTO TUXEDO BLACK DYE INK PAD just above the window.

Place a strip of SCORE TAPE on the back of your Jolly Rancher.
Adhere than round your corners using a small round corner punch (yes it would be smarter to do it before you adhere the candy).
Jolly Good job. Hee Hee.

Score your 6 x 3" piece of COTTONBALL WHITE at 3" along the long side using the SCOR-PAL. Fold in half to make your 3 x 3 card with the fold at the top.

Cut a 3 x 3 piece of CHERRY GO ROUND CARDSTOCK and ahere to card front.

Get out your ruler and pencil. Make marks starting at the top 3/4" in from each side at the top. Then make a mark 1" up from the bottom on each side and draw lines connecting them from top to side on each side. Then cut along the lines with scissors or your paper trimmer.

Cut out a 3 1/2 " 1" piece of SWEET PEA CARDSTOCK and run through the paper crimper.

On the front of the card place two strips of SCORE TAPE along the bottom and one inch from the bottom.

Adhere the green crimped strip to the front, flip over and cut off the excess.

All you need is a 5/8" x 1 1/2" piece of COTTONBALL WHITE and stamp the sentiment "My teacher is one in a "melon"!" from the set TEACHER TREATS with MEMENTO TUXEDO BLACK DYE INK PAD. Punch a 1/8" hole and tie on with 2ft STRAWBERRY JAM (CDS COLOR)-CHERRY DIVINE TWINE .
There you have it...three teacher note ideas.
LUNCH BOX NOTES

These next three notes will be made from scraplings. A scrapling is made from that 1 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of paper left over from making two 4 1/4" cards from a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock. So...start with your 1 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of COTTONBALL WHITE CARDSTOCK. Score at 4 1/4 on the long side using your SCOR-PAL.

Using the set KID ENCOURAGEMENTS stamp this sentiment 2/3'rds the way down the card front in MEMENTO TUXEDO BLACK DYE INK PAD.

Fill in the rest of the card with another sentiment from the set "Don't worry" in TURQUOISE GEM.
Take the chisel end of Copic YG07 TANGELO SMOOTHIE (CDS COLOR) and highlight the first sentiment you stamped "You'll do great".

Start with your 8 1/2 x 1 1/2" piece of COTTONBALL WHITE CARDSTOCK. Score at 4 1/4 on the long side using your SCOR-PAL.

Cut a piece of TOGETHERNESS DESIGNER PAPER BY COSMO CRICKET 1 1/2 x 4 1/4" and adhere to card front.

Now stamp the individual stamp APPLE AND BOOKS in MEMENTO TUXEDO BLACK DYE INK on a scrap of COTTONBALL WHITE CARDSTOCK.
I just simple colored the image using Copics: (the apple leaf and bottom book) YG06 LIME JUICE, (the apple) Y17 BEE POLLEN, (first book) BG05 TURQUOISE GEM, (second book) YR07 TANGELO SMOOTHIE, (shadow on book pages) C-1

Cut out image, turn over and adhere dimensional tape to the back.

Adhere books to card front...card will be horizontal.

Using the stamp set KID ENCOURAGEMENTS stamp the sentiment "Have a great day" using MEMENTO TUXEDO BLACK DYE INK PAD right on the designer paper as desired.
I like it on its side. Isn't that little stack of books so cute.
Now that you've seen some ideas and how to's let's see what little notes you make.
