Hello, hello! Have you had fun shopping at Clear Dollar Stamps for all of the goodies you've seen over the past couple of days through the October Product Parade? If you missed it, scroll down to the next group of postings; if not. . .welcome to the Tuesday Tutorial! It's Cassie here, and I want to show you how to put some drapes on your windows. No, not the ones in your house, but the ones that go beautifully on the new set just released: Windowbox Wishes.
Here is what I'm showing you:
Stamps: Windowbox Wishes
Ink: CDS Hot Cocoa, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: CDS Cottonball White, CC Early Bird
Copics: E43, E44, YG01, YG03, YR21, YR23, YG95, R02, R05
Accessories: CDS Oval Die, CDS Tags & Tabs Die, sponge, CDS Tropical Mist ribbon, dimensionals, netting, Scor-tape
Let's get started!
I started off by stamping the window twice on some Cottonball White cardstock with my Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Using the window stamp again, I stamped the curtains on some dp, and then cut them out.
.
After coloring one of the windows with my E43 & E44 Copic, I cut it out and then cut out the insides with an exacto knife. CDS has a Windowbox Wishes SVG file to go with the set if you're interested in those as well.
Attach the curtains to the window.
Now for some drapes! I found some netting from a package of something (that I can't remember). I love to look for unconventional things to craft with.
Attach a piece of Scor-tape to the back of your window.
Start attaching your netting by scrunching it as you lay it down on the adhesive. This way you'll give your curtains a ruffled look.
This is what it will look like once the netting is attached.
Cut out your second window being sure to leave extra space at the bottom so that you can attach your sill to it. Now put Scor-tape on your second window like it's shown above.
This is what the window will look like overlapped.
Stamp your window sill image on Cottonball White cardstock.
Color using your copics or whatever medium you prefer.
Cut out the pieces you'll need to assembe your card. I used the CDS Oval Die and the CDS Tabs & Tags Die for some of my pieces.
Stamp your sentiment and sponge the edges.
Assemble you card.
Cut out your window sill and put dimensionals on the back.
Tada, a finished little window scene. You can use other variations of the netting as well. Try fabric for your drapes or even tissue paper. Have fun using your imagination coming up with all kinds of window treatments!
Here is a picture of another window scene I made:
So what do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this tutorial. Now go forth and be creative.
FAB TUT!!!!!!
Have to dig that netting out!!

FABULOUS idea! I have a weakness for 'window' scenes and the curtains are wonderful. This would be perfect for a housewarming card as well. TFS!
