Happy Tuesday Tutorial morning. Lisa here! It is my turn today. I will show you how to make a box card. My friend Angela sent me a RAK inside an adorable box card. Angela told me that she got this idea from a talented stamper, Valita. I loved the size and just had to gently take it apart so I could make this tutorial for you with some changes (to make it original) and show you how using Clear Dollar Stamps Products.
We will be using the new Digital Image
Closed with belly band.
Open showing Easter Basket Tags.
Start with an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of WORN PARCHMENT CARDSTOCK.Score at 2 1/2, 4, 7, 8 1/2 along the 11" side using your Scor-Pal.
Now turn your cardstock so the short end is at the top and score at 1 1/2 and 7".
Cut out the corners 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 .
Now on the long sides. Cut in from the edge to the fold lines 1 1/2 on both sides like shown here.
Now take the center area on the long sides that is 2 1/2 x 1 1/2. Find the center on the outside edge and mark at 1 1/2. Draw a line from the center to each inside edge on the score line like shown.
Fold along the score line on the long side in toward the center.
The same tabs that we drew the marks on that look like arrows...fold them in toward the center by folding the top flaps back so the point folds in toward the center...on both sides.
Fold the left and right flaps in toward the center at second fold line on each short side.
Now fold the last fold in a mountain fold on each side so your paper looks like this.
Turn over your paper and add adhesive to the end taps like shown. I used score tape for a strong hold.
Fold in the flaps we put tape on...and this is what you have. It looks like a box doesn't it.
Next using the digi EGG AND BASKET, I printed the patterned digital paper onto Cottonball White cardstock. (I don't know why I have a line around my pattern). You do not need to have a line. It just needs to be at least 6 x 8 1/2.
Cut your patterned paper into three panels....two 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 and the third is 3 x 5 1/2 with about 1/16 taken off the short and long side so it will fit on the inside.
I found that the center piece slips in nice and snug...no tape required. I then adhered two top side panels with the patterned paper using my Scotch Advanced Tape Glider.
Now to print out your basket tags. I used Microsoft Publisher and inserted png baskets. You hover over your baskets when you are selecting them and one will say jpeg and one will say png. Png allows you to overlap the text box it inserts onto the page in. So you can fit more on a page. I also used a png sentiment to place on my image like above.
Cut out your Easter baskets and punch a hole at the top so they can be used as tags.
Take a 12 x 1 1/2" piece of worn parchment and wrap around the card and adhere to make a belly band to hold it close.
Then adhere one of your Easter Baskets you cut out to the front using dimensional tape.
Thank you for joining me this week.
