Hello and Happy Valentine's Day, my sweet crafty friends! It's Cassie here bringing you the latest Tuesday Tutorial! How would you like to make this:
It looks harmless doesn't it? Well, there is more to it than meets the eye my friends! Before I get too ahead of myself, why don't you go grab a few supplies:
Stamps: You Lift Me Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: CDS Cottonball White, SU Pool Party, MME Happier
Copics: W1, W3, E41, E42, RV10, RV11
Accessories: CDS Elegant Accents Die, CDS Oval Die, oragandy ribbon, Scor-pal, Hearts embossing folder, Flamingo Liquid Pearls, foam tape
Do you have everything? All right then let's get started!
To start with, I grabbed an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock and cut it as follows: Since I want my final card size to be the normal 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", I will cut start with my paper length wise and cut at the 4 1/4" mark down to 2 3/4". I will then flip my paper so that the bottom is now at the top and cut the same way. Once I've done that I will turn my paper and cut from the 2 3/4" down to the 4 1/4" mark. Then I will flip it and do the same on the other side, so that I am left with the paper looking the way it does up above. Make sure you save those cut out pieces, because you'll be using them later.
Now I will score the paper as shown above.
Now looking at the panel you have on the top of your card, you'll want to make a mark at the 2 3/4" mark.
I cut from the corners down to the mark to get a triangular panel as shown.
Using one of the cut out pieces from above, I used my Oval Die to cut out, well, an oval :)
I then used my Elegant Accents Die and cut out this shape with my MME Happier paper, and then set all of that aside.
I stamped out my adorable image from You Lift Me Up onto spme Cottonball White paper using my Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
And started coloring. . .my favorite part.
Next I cut out my image and used an exacto knife and a self-healing mat to cut out the inside part of the image.
I pulled out my MME Happier paper again, and cut panels for the inside middle part of my card that each measured 2 1/2" x 4". Then I ran them through my Cuttlebug using the Hearts embossing folder.
I went ahead and folded in that part of the card and attached my panels so the inside middle now looks like this.
Folding my triangular flap back down, I then cut another piece of dp to fit onto my triangle. Before I attached it, I attached a piece of ribbon.
Here is the little bow I tied, and set aside for assembly.
The back of my image was covered with foam tape. . .because I love me some foam tape.
I gathered all of my pieces that were set aside, and assembled the outside of my card. I'm not done yet :)
I really do enjoy making my inside just as pretty as my outside, so I grabbed some more Cottonball White cardstock and lined the inside. I used a piece that measured about 3 3/4" x 5 1/4".
Using more of my dp, I used the border from the Elegant Accents die set and cut this out.
And decorated the inside like this. But I'm not entirely done yet :)
I used the Oval die and the Elegant Accents die one more time to cut these out.
The sentiment was stamped onto the oval and then attached as shown.
Next came the dimensional pearls, and now it's finished :)
And here's the finished inside.
I sure hope that you were inspired today. If you have any questions about this project, please feel free to email me (cassandratrask@yahoo.com). Now go forth and be crafty!
